چکیده

Purpose: Inflammation is a major factor in the pathophysiology of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and molecules implicated inflammation include monocytes high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C). The primary goal study was to look at relationship between function hypertension (PH) COPD monocyte HDL ratio (MHR).
Materials Methodsː conducted by acquiring retrospective data from previously recorded questionnaires hospital databases for 239 individuals over age 40 with diagnosis who admitted outpatient clinic. Patients whose were missing not included analysis. Two groups patients created: those high MHO levels without. Analysis done on correlation tests. presence PH analyzed second stage.
Resultsː median 62.22 ± 9.37 year 88.7% them male. With exception smoking, there no statistically significant link MHR analyses, however negative connection post-bronchodilation (post-BD) FEV1/FVC MHR. Additionally, association found absolute value RV/TLC. However, older (OR=0.949, 95% CI (0.915, 0.984)), having more than three comorbidities (OR=2.174, (1.045, 4.521)), body mass index (BMI) below 25 have all been linked an increased risk patients.
Conclusionː Although conclusively established, it functions. that presented also came conclusion may be significantly advanced age, numerous comorbidities, low weight. These problems must investigated validated larger, multicenter patient populations.

The Relationship between Diaphragmatic Movements in Sonographic Assessment and Disease Severity in Patients with Stable Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

Introduction: Pulmonary hyperinflation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) can increase the breathing rate and reduce diaphragmatic movements by pushing the diaphragms downward and limiting their movements; this, in fact, can affect the breathing process. The purpose of this study was to compare diaphragmatic movements in COPD patients and healthy ones and to evaluate ...

Relationship between serum vitamin D and forced expiratory volume in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

Background: Vitamin D deficiency seems to be associated with pulmonary function deterioration. The present study was designed to investigate the relationship between serum vitamin D and forced expiratory volume in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methods: From September 2011 to April 2012 eighty consecutive patients with COPD presented to an outpatient clinic of Babo...

The Relationship between Serum Uric Acid and Severity of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

Introduction: Some evidence exists about the possible relationship between the serum uric acid (UA) and exacerbation of the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Present study intended to compare the COPD-related variables and the one-year outcome between the two groups of patients with the high and low UA. Material and Methods: This cohort study consisted of 112 patients with COPD exac...

Statins and Pulmonary Hypertension in Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease

Chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD) is a chronic multisystem disease with a considerable burden. One of its most common complications is pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH). It has been demonstrated that the development of PAH is correlated with decreased quality of life and survival. Different medications have been proposed for the treatment of PAH, among which one can name statins. Howeve...
